Traetyn Payden Toone

Birth Story:

So I was scheduled to be at the hospital at 11am on Friday May 13th 2011 to be induced. That morning Payden's parents met us at our apartment and took Braylie to Blackfoot with them for the day so we wouldn't have to find someone here to watch her and that way she got to have fun with her cousins and grandma and grandpa all day. :)

We got to the hospital a little after 11 and got checked in and put into our room. I got my IV and all set up for the day and then it was just waiting for Doctor Watson to arrive to break my water.

He got there at like 12:30 and broke my water (which wasn't painful at all) and then the labor process began! Before he broke my water though he looked at my contractions and asked if I had been feeling them. I said that I hadn't really other then maybe so little tiny ones, and he said, there really big you just have a high threshold for pain. I said they aren't big and he and the nurse were like, ya they are a really good size.. haha I really wasn't feeling much and wasn't in any pain so that was cool. : ) After he broke my water I was doing well too. No pain really. With Braylie after he broke my water the contractions were instantly really hard and consistent. They let me go for about 4 hours of contracting on my own and then we started Pitosin to make things more regular. When I was stretchy to a 4 I was still not in much pain but my nurse suggested that I get my epidural now before the anethesiogist left the hospital or I missed my window. I'm glad I said yes because while I was waiting the contractions started getting worse. Although they really weren't that bad. The doc got there to put in my epi and it was the same guy who did Braylie's epidural! I was so happy it was him because I had a really good experience with him before! My nurse said that they guy who was going to do it was the fastest and really good and I thought it might be him because with Braylie I just remember him coming in the room in shorts and flip flops (he came from home to do my epi) and he put it in and it was all done and he left. It was so fast and there was no pain at all! I was nervous about the epidural this time just because I wasn't really in pain when he was going to do it and with Braylie I was so focused on my contractions that I didn't feel a thing. All was well though and there was no pain! My left leg and toes started getting numb right away my right leg wasn't really doing anything. We gave it some time and my contractions were getting worse but I could still feel them on the right side and not the left. After we were sure the right side wasn't going to get numb the anthesiologist came back and just pulled the tube out a little bit so it wasn't so far in and then put it back in a little more towards my right side. That did the trick! I was now numb on both sides evenly! :) At about 5 pm I was at a 5 and my nurse guessed I would have him at 8:30 that night. That didn't seem very likely to me but it was a nice time to shoot for :) My next nurse checked me around 7:30 - 7:45 and I was a 9!!! like 10 min later I was at a 10!!!!

Then it was just waiting for my doctor to get there and I started pushing! I did like 1 test push before he got there and the nurse was sure it was time to go. Once Doctor Watson got there (from his golf tourney haha) I only pushed for 5 sets of contractions 4 times each contractions and he was here! SO CRAZY!

Payden said that this was a much more pleasing labor then Braylie's. Her's was kinda dramatic and she came out looking so sad after all she had been through and with the vaccum and everything.
It was a little less emotional this time around because I had done it before but I still shed a tear or two and was so relieved to have my baby with me! I forgot to do skin to skin when I had Braylie so I really wanted to do that. The nurse took him and diapered him and then brought him to me and we were able to snuggle mommy to son for as long as I wanted. : )

I of course wanted Payden to hold him and to see how much he weighed and everything so after about ten min I let the nurse take him and clean him up a bit more and do all the technicalities.

He was really coated with vernix (white waxy stuff that protects their skin in utero) so he really badly needed a bath. He didn't get it until both of our families left for the night and we were getting ready to move to my new room with a MUCH SOFTER BED!! :)

Traetyn Payden Toone eneterd the world on May 13, 2011 at 8:24 pm The nurse guessed 8:30 and she was so right!) weighing 6 lbs. 15 oz. and measuring 19 1/4 inches long. His head was 13 inches around.

Such an amazing experience yet again. Even though I've done it once before it doesn't change what a miricle it is to bring a child into the world and intoyour family and heart. We alreay just love and adore our little man so much and can't wait to see the little person that he turns in to!!! There is nothing better in this life then Parenthood!

Here are some other pictures at the hospital of him and the family. Most importantly meeting his big sister Braylie! :)

Here he is with Doctor Watson and me. I forgot to get a picture with him and Braylie but he delivered her too! :)

The next morning when Braylie got to come back to the hospital-

This is his going home outfit. Payden's mom made it herself for Payden to come home in and still had it. She gave it to us so that Traetyn could go home in it too! :) He looks adorable and seriously so much like his Daddy! :) I love that they can share things like this in life!

Grandma and Traetyn

All ready to go home!

More pictures of him at home coming soon... :)

Thanks big time to my amazing support group! I was so happy to have you all 3 there and it really meant a lot to me!
Payden- of course, you are my everything, along with our now 2 children, and I love you so much! I can't believe the amazing miricles we have created and the family we have become in less then 3 years of marriage. You are an AMAZING father and I am so blessed to have you! <3

Mom - What would a girl do without her Mom?!! I only hope that I can be a wonderful mother and friend to my children the way you have been for me. I would be lost in this world without you and lost in that delivery room without you just wishing you could be there! Thanks for making the trip and sacrifice to be there with me when I need you most! <3

Crystal - I was so excited and happy that you were able to be there with me this time around of delivery! You REALLY helped me each step of the way. Through each contraction and every blood pressure check that made me parinoid. You held my hand. You checked the monitors. You talked me through it all. Thank you for being an amazing sister and a wonderful friend! I am so lucky to have you! I'm honored that you chose to be there with me in that room that day. I hope it was as good of an experience for you as it was for me! <3

Braylie

Here are some random picture I took of Braylie the other day during lunch and then playing outside. Her hair was crazy this day from her nap and I didn't bother to fix it but I knida think it makes the pics cute. A little girl with crazy piggys haha :) Enjoy!

37 weeks

I am now 37 weeks and 3 days pregnant! I had a doctors appointment on Monday and when he checked me I was dilated to a 2 and 80% effaced!! The week before I was a 1 and 70% effaced. His head was also a lot lower this week apparently. I think he may have dropped but I'm not quite sure yet. SO my doctor said anytime I go will be just fine. I have an appointment next Monday again if I haven't gone into labor yet and by then he'll schedule an induction for the following week. Supposing I don't go on my own of course. So I'm hoping mext friday for induction if I don't go into labor on my own. I figure that would work best for my family with travel and everything! :) Can't wait to meet my new little man!
