Christmas at the Toones
We were at the Toones this year for Christmas and it was wonderful! We were definitely spoiled but that wasn't even the best part. The best part was being with family. And because we were with family and enjoying ourselves so much, I didn't take the time very often to whip out the camera and take very many pictures. But I did get a few of Christmas eve and right when we woke the kids up Christmas morning. Enjoy! Cooking with Mema on Christmas Eve!
Braylie was really interested about leaving cookies out for Santa and was really concerned about the milk. haha. (she loves milk) I had to keep explaining to her over and over that we will leave this out for Santa and when he comes to bring you presents he'll eat your cookies and drink the milk all gone, and when you wake up, they will be all gone and there will be presents left for you! :) She got excited about that part! When we woke Braylie up in the morning I told her Santa had come to Mema's house! She just said, "i no like him, go home." haha I told her that Santa wasn't here but that he came and left presents and then went home to his house. Then she got really excited! She got some Hand me down dress up dresses from her cousins and she LOVED them of course!! She thought she was a beautiful princess. :DI have been trying for the last 4 days to upload the rest of my pictures but blogger is being RETARTED!!! Or maybe it's just my comp but either way, I'm posting this now and I'll update it with pictures when I get around to wanting to mess with blogger again.

Santa! Santa! HO HO HO!
So on Saturday when my parents were in town for Payden's Graduation, we thought it would be the perfect time to take the kids to go see Santa... haha a it didn't go so well. SERIOUSLY! Last year Braylie screamed and cried but we got some cute pictures of it regardless. This year, not so much. They are far away because of rules of using your own camera, so I had to zoom in, which resulted in blurriness. They both screamed and were clenching to me. Braylie was so excited to see him until she got about a foot away from him and realized we wanted her to sit with him. So here are some cute happy faces in line first and then the disaster. enjoy.
Braylie LOVED Santa before this, and still gets excited to see him on TV or his picture on things in the store, but if we ask her about him now, She says, "I no like him." haha sad day. Hopefully after getting her presents from Santa this year she'll remember that part and next year for Christmas, she will forget this horrifying experience. I hope so!
My little man
So here's an update on Traetyn. For starters, he is like the best little boy!! He is soo sweet and is SERIOUSLY the BEST laugher you will ever find!
He is everywhere lately! A couple weeks ago he started army crawling and he has gotten really good at it! He is SO close to crawling for real. I am still thinking it might be by Christmas! He gets up on his hands and knees and just rocks and rocks and rocks. It's adorable. I love it :D He'll be on his hands and knees and take like one crawl and then he'll be back on his tummy. Which is fine. I'm not quite sure I'm ready for him to be all over the house. He already can come find me in the kitchen or down the hall in a different room. haha But I am really excited for him to reach this next milestone!
And Braylie and him have been able to play a lot better now that he is bigger and more mobile. She gets so excited when he crawls. She is always, "Mom! Toytyn's crawling!" haha she LOVES her baby brother. She has seriously not once ever been mad at him. Totally surprised me by how good she is always with him. I mean there are definitely moments and she'll take his toy or accidentally hurt him but she never hurts him deliberately and is always happy to see him. The other day she cried and cried when I was trying to put her down for a nap. I went into her room and asked her what she wanted and she says in a sad voice, "I wanna play with toytyn" haha after I let her get up she got soo excited and ran to him out in the living room giggling.
In other news on Traetyn, he apparently isn't really growing very well. I mean he is chunky and looks great! But in the past couple of months he has only gained a pound and isn't getting much taller. At 7 months he was in the 1% for his height and the 5% for his weight. Sad. haha But seriously I am soo not worried. He is developing and eating and sleeping awesome! The doctor looked up Braylie's growth chart at his age, and she did the exact same thing. He's expecting a big growth spurt by 9 months.
Traetyn also had eye surgery the week after Thanksgiving. He had a clogged tear duct in his right eye. Both eyes were clogged until about 4 months when the left eye randomly cleared up on it's own. By 6 months the right eye was still pretty nasty so we went ahead and had surgery where they put a probe down his tear duct and flush it out. But, he scared over it and clogged up again. It's not as bad as it was before surgery so it did help a little but he'll have another check up with the eye doctor at 10 months to see if it has cleared up on it's own any more. If it hasn't we'll probably have to do another, more extensive surgery, where they have to put a stint in his eye for a couple months and then take it out. So I'm hoping we won't have to go through that the poor thing! I'm praying it just clears up on it's own!
Before his surgery when we were leaving the house ^ and then after surgery with his penguin they gave him at the surgery center. :D
We have absolutely LOVED having this sweet little guy in our family! All in all we have been very blessed!
Payden's Graduation!!
PAYDEN GRADUATED!!! We are ELATED!!! :D After 4 years of working multiple jobs, tons of homework (and NO SCHOOL LOANS!!) My hubby has reached the end!! He majored in Construction Management and got his Associates in Architecture. He will be attending Graduate school in Architecture after we take some time off for a year or two and work.
Last Friday night both of our parents were able to come into town to help us celebrate Payden's College Graduation. I did Cafe Rio pulled pork in the crock pot all night long and all day and we had awesome homemade fajitas. I also made homemade cinnamon rolls for dessert afterwards. But kinda were for anytime before and after ; ). Payden had to go earlier then the rest of us, so after he took off I got dressed and got the kids ready to go. Then our parents, me and the kids headed off to the BYUI Center for the Commencement.
The kids were SOOOO good. The second ceremony where Payden walked across the stage, got his name called and received his diploma cover, they had a bit more of a rough time. But the first meeting... they were awesome! It helps that Mema and Nanna were both there to help me with Traetyn and entertain Braylie. :D
It was really a great experience to have both of our parents there for Payden's graduation! We are all so proud of him for what he has accomplished! It was awesome to be able to share it together!! He has really done a ton of hard work to get where he is. It doesn't quite seem real yet. Maybe that's because we don't have a job just yet. I keep telling myself that it's just the timing. None of the other jobs have worked out because the PERFECT job for us is just around the corner. Here's to hoping that's true!! haha
This post is kinda scatter brain, as are the pictures... but it has been way too long since I have posted and College Graduation definitely deserves a somewhat thought out post on this here blog. haha
As for now, we still have no job like I said. So if you hear of anything... anything at all, shout it our way! I'll keep you updated as far as that goes. We're kinda waiting on one in Pocatello and out at the INL Site. For now he is looking for something, anything to get us by until he finds a good long term job that will offer us what he deserves to be paid. But besides all of that, we are looking forward to Christmas this weekend and being with the Toone Clan in Blackfoot! Spencer and Kristen and their new little girl Brooklyn are coming, so we are anxious and excited to be able to meet her!
Take care! and Merry Christmas!
